My study of yogic theory and practice led me to dig deeper into the subject of perception. In the 2nd century BC, Nyana philosophers suggested that there are 24 properties or qualitative modes that help us assess our world. These are the Gunas.

The senses series touches on another universal subject- how we percieve the world. I used not only objects that address each , but have altered the images to have the viewer really experience each sense.

This series of large still life paintings allowed me to focus on stories that are essential to everyone.

Still life allows me to set a stage and tell a story. These large oil paintings were created with a nod to my childhood and that of my own children.
